FoCS was awarded in an NHS Beacon award of patient participation groups in 2020 in recognition of its major contribution to Doctor \/ patient relationship.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-53a5972 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"53a5972\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In 2015 the UK government introduced GP practice Patient Participation Goups and (PPG) to enhance<br \/>communication between patients and practices; FoCS was already fulfilling this role and join the national<br \/>associations of PPG\u2019S<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b8d830f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3b8d830f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What is a PPG?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-79030344 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"79030344\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li class=\"CDt4Ke zfr3Q\" dir=\"ltr\">PPG is a group of volunteer patients and carers who meet regularly with practice staff to enhance<br \/>healthcare services at the GP surgery. to discuss and support the running of their GP practice.<\/li><li class=\"CDt4Ke zfr3Q\" dir=\"ltr\">All GP surgeries are required to have a PPG by law.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-09b52b8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"09b52b8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 to provide an open form to facilitate communication between patient and the practice<\/li><li>Provide patient feedback on the patient experience and our services the practice<\/li><li>Provide an opportunity for patients to be updated about pra tice news and ask questions about how the surgery is operating<\/li><li>At present the Trustees of the Friends act as a steering group, co-ordinating
